Neil L (Nephew of Resident)

Wonderful staff. Caring, attentive, professional, friendly and communicative. My Aunt is very happy here and I cannot praise the staff enough. The staff provide a warm, caring experience that feels like home for my Aunt. Thank you.

Steve W (Grandson of Resident)

My grandmother passed recently but I cannot state how wonderfully everybody looked after her up to the end. Not only my Nan but also the other members of the family all commented on how amazing the staff had been. How professional, compassionate and just friendly they all were whilst we were visiting and being by her bedside. It's incredibly comforting to know she passed peacefully and in the best possible care. Thank you.

Sarah B (Granddaughter of Resident)

My Grandma lived here for nearly 20 years. She died in March 2018 having celebrated her 102nd birthday the previous September. The staff became her family and they looked after her beautifully with care and compassion at all times. They always chatted with her throughout the course of the day (and night at times) and it was evident that they saw her as a person and not just a resident. The food was fantastic and nutritious. Family and friends were always welcomed. Grandma always looked lovely with manicured nails and her hair done regularly in the salon. Her clothes were kept clean and we were always kept well informed if she needed anything. Entertainment arranged for the residents was always relevant and fun and the staff made a special effort around birthdays and Xmas – Grandma would rather spend Xmas there with friends than with family! The home is always kept very clean and there are never any nasty smells. It is a home in every sense and I would have no qualms in recommending it.

Claire Davis, Care Home Manager

Welcome to Westerham Place Care Home, set in the historic Kentish town of Westerham.

My career in care began around 20 years ago as a carer in a nursing residential home. On leaving school, I knew that I did not want to work in an office and that I wanted to do something that could make a difference.

Having witnessed my grandparents develop Alzheimer’s disease, in a time before the fantastic levels of care and understanding we have now, I knew I wanted to be part of working to support these people and changing attitudes towards the condition.

I trained on the job in my first position at a care home in Chislehurst, where I grew up. I really enjoyed the warm and welcoming environment that the family-run home offered, and I progressed to Senior within three months. After some time working as an Assistant Matron running the residential unit, I accepted a Deputy Manager’s position at another home.

Following this, I took up my first Registered Manager’s position at a Dementia Care Home in Bromley, which I held for three years. I then became the Registered Manager of this beautiful home, Westerham Place.

When I arrived, I was determined to instill the warm and welcoming, family atmosphere I had loved so much in my first job. 8 years on, and I think that is what sets Westerham Place apart. We are a pet-friendly home, my dog is a regular visitor and we have our very own resident cat.

Our residents and their families consistently tell us they love our personal touch, our homely feel, and our genuinely caring staff.
