Patcham Nursing Home in Brighton are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our hard working and dedicated team on a initial 3 month contract.

Located on the edge of the South Downs in Sussex, this sensitive barn conversion enjoys stunning views over landscaped gardens and the surrounding countryside. With many staff members being long-term employees, Patcham benefits from a warm and homely atmosphere.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a cook, your main responsibilities will include: food preparation, to cook and serve both hot and cold food and to meet any dietary requirements. This role is a bank role so flexibility is needed to cover ad hoc shifts covering holidays and sickness.

Required:

•Team player
•Satisfactory Policy Check and check against the PoVA list
•Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
•Good communication skills
•Ability to work on own initiative

Desired:
•Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate

•City & Guilds 706 – 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
•Previous management or supervisory experienced
•Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group
