Keeping our Residents Safe & Well

At Featherton House, we have been extremely fortunate not to have had any confirmed or suspected cases of Covid-19 to date.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, our team have been working hard to keep our residents safe and well. Thanks to our digital care systems and Covid-19 Safe Programme we have been able to form robust infection control procedures, carefully monitor the situation and adapt quickly. We have routine testing of residents and staff, and we keep track of our residents’ vital signs twice a day. In addition, staff temperatures are checked before entering the home and on the change of every shift.

Ample PPE for Staff and Relatives

Although we are a small village-based home, we are supported by a large head office network. With a dedicated clinical governance and quality department monitoring the latest guidance, best practices and local infection rates, we remain informed and responsive to best protect those in our care. Having secured ample supplies of PPE early on in the crisis, our head office holds a dedicated stock for our team and our residents’ relatives to last well into the future.

Meticulously Clean

Throughout the pandemic, we have doubled-down on our already stringent cleaning procedures. Having increased hours and resources for our domestic staff, all handles, handrails and surfaces are disinfected several times a day.

Fully Trained and Updated

Our team receive regular updates and training in line with the most current guidance, making sure our residents’ health and wellbeing remain central to everything we do. We have also helped our residents to adjust to our ‘new normal’ by clearly explaining everything we are doing with care.

Following these steps, we have been able to ensure that our residents continue to receive the outstanding levels of care for which we are known, while also keeping Featherton House free from infection.
