Live Entertainment Returns to Westerham Place

Some firm favourites have returned to Westerham Place Care Home, much to the delight of the home’s residents and staff.

Our Westerham Place family are excited to have had live entertainment and music and movement sessions back inside the home for the first time since the pandemic began.

Even though the home’s residents could enjoy virtual performances from entertainers on the home’s giant interactive tablet during visiting restrictions, nothing quite beats the real thing!

In the last few months, Westerham Place has welcomed Henry and his wonderful musical movement back for fortnightly sessions.

Previously, he was a regular visitor to the care home in the Sevenoaks area of Kent, with residents thoroughly enjoying his gentle exercise sessions set to music.

As well as armchair exercises and dancing, the sessions also promote coordination and cognitive skills through activities like catching a ball.

Back By Popular Demand

Care home manager Kerry Coates said:  “By popular demand, Henry will be here entertaining us twice a week from now on.

“His style of gentle exercise accompanied by music goes down a treat with our residents and also our staff!”

Joe, another familiar face, has also made a welcome return to entertain the home’s residents with his guitar. Joe is loved for his renditions of classic pop songs like Sweet Caroline which are guaranteed to get everyone at the home dancing and singing along!

The music often brings back many happy memories for our residents and provides a wonderful social occasion to look forward to.

Westerham Place has exciting plans to take some of its much-loved entertainers alfresco for a Jubilee Garden Party for residents and their loved ones in June.
