Wren Retirement Living Newsletter October 2020

Wren Retirement Living Newsletter – October 2020 Edition

A very warm welcome to the latest edition of the Wren Retirement Living Newsletter. Over the summer we were pleased to introduce Safe Outside Visiting at our homes, safely reuniting loved ones, often under the warmth of the great British summer sun!

As we head towards the colder months, many of our homes have completed risk assessments to welcome one designated visitor per resident to a Safe Indoor Visiting Room. Where possible, the Safe Indoor Visiting Rooms will provide the same warmth and comfort visitors will be used to from the time before the coronavirus pandemic. However, these dedicated rooms can be directly accessed from outside, without the need to pass-through other areas of the home.

The situation over the winter months will no doubt remain changeable. That is why our teams at Wren Retirement Living care homes are working hard to ensure that life continues as close to normal as possible for our residents. In this newsletter, discover how our staff have continued to make a fuss of our residents on their birthdays. You’ll also read how one home has made a book about their lockdown experience.

Happy Birthdays

Many of us have had to come to terms with much quieter birthday celebrations this year. This is not the case at Wren Retirement Living! In this edition of our newsletter, you’ll hear how some of our centenarians celebrated in style. From little touches like favourite photos iced onto birthday cakes to a socially distanced garden tea party. Our teams have made sure our residents continue to have special birthdays.

Our Safe Outside Visiting arrangements also led to some heart-warming one-to-one birthday reunions.

Celebrating Years of Excellent Service

We are lucky to have incredibly dedicated and professional team members. Many of whom have worked in our homes for an impressive number of years. The family atmosphere at each of our homes is something our residents thoroughly enjoy. There is no doubt that our long-serving team members play a huge part in this. In this newsletter, we pay tribute to one of our longest-standing members of staff and wave a fond farewell to two retirees.
