Spring has arrived and so has the latest edition of the Wren Retirement Living Newsletter!
With the new season upon us, lighter evenings, and our beautiful gardens starting to bloom with the first spring flowers, there is a great feeling of optimism across our homes. In recent months there have been some significant steps forward in the fight against the pandemic. Not least, being able to reunite our residents with nominated visitors inside our homes.
It has been wonderful to see our residents’ faces light up as they have been reunited with loved ones in the past few weeks. New government guidelines allow residents to nominate one person to visit them regularly inside of their care home. With many of the first visits coinciding with Mothering Sunday and birthdays, there have been some heart-warming moments. Supported by an excellent uptake of the Covid-19 vaccination programme across Wren Retirement Living care homes, we’re in a great position as we head into the warmer months. In this edition of the Wren Retirement Living Newsletter, you will also learn more about our exciting new partnership with Oomph On Demand. At a time where we are still unable to welcome entertainers and fitness instructors into our homes, or head out for day trips, Oomph On Demand brings a world of virtual entertainment to our residents. From performers to live-streamed exercise classes, interactive quizzes to virtual tours of worldwide destinations, there is something for everyone!
Throughout the pandemic, our teams have been coming up with inventive ways of keeping our residents connected to the wider world. Theme days help our residents discover the sights, sounds and most importantly the tastes of worldwide destinations. In our Spring newsletter, you’ll learn how one of our care homes brought Chinese New Year to rural Oxfordshire.
